Or more importantly….where is Robyn Skinner? Right now? Thinking-up ways to provide useful information for travelers in Bermuda!
But more about me. I began traveling before I could walk and had a passport before I had hair. It’s a way of life since I was born on a 21-square-mile Island in the middle of the Atlantic – Bermuda (insert any number of Bermuda jokes here).
Born September 22, 1979 to a very relieved mother (I was two weeks late) I was in Vancouver, Canada within a year. And while I might have held out on the world sticking with my mom for two extra weeks, very little has stopped me from exploring it since.
From visiting the East Coast of the United States with my parents to Vancouver and Summerland, British Colombia for family, I crossed the Atlantic in high school to live with a French family. From here it just spiraled. I have taught in Rome, Italy; Prague, Czech Republic; Istanbul, Turkey, and travelled for three months through India and Sri Lanka. Just last year spent I visited 24 countries on my round-the-world trip.
Between these excursions I did manage to graduate from college, get my Masters in International Relations and become a Senior Journalist at Bermuda’s daily paper: The Royal Gazette. All before I was 30 (though technically three months of Robyn’s Postcards were spent past my twenties).
Since I travelled the world and wrote weekly columns for the paper I have decided to hack it on my own. I will continue to write a column for the paper while I put my writing into a book and work arduously to begin my freelance writing company. So anyone need some copy for their website, articles, press releases….basically whatever you need written well, contact me.
Need some photos? Check out my humble attempt at this artistic enterprise and you’ve got my contact info if you need it!
What do I hope with this website? At the very least I hope to entertain, inspire at least one person to travel and seek the world that has already offered me so much.
Much Love and Luck in your travels!
